Building Audit

Description:

A building audit is an indepth analysis of a building's capacity to support current and future needs of a program.  Typical areas examined include structure, mechanical and electrical systems, hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, etc) and life safety.

Notes:

1)  Building audits are a recommended to be part of renovation program plans.  For these projects, the building audit must be performed by a third party consultant, not university staff.

2)  A building audit will use information from the Facilties Condition Audit as a starting point, but its intention is to examine future conditions rather than the restoration focus of the Facilities Condition Audit.
