Capital Development Committee (CDC)

Description:

The CDC is legislative committee responsible for prioritization of capital construction projects.  The primary responsibility of the CDC is to review and make recommendations concerning the capital construction and controlled maintenance requests submitted by state departments and higher education institutions each year.  The CDC forwards its recommendations to the Joint Budget Committee (JBC).

The CDC is a joint committee, consisting of three members of the House of Representatives and three memebers of the Senate.  Each house is represented by two members of the majority party and one member of the minority party.

Notes:

1)  The CDC meets each month and may consider projects up for expeditied review at any time.  Projects seeking CCFE money are prioritized at the November meeting.

2)  CDC staff generally sends written questions about projects 30 days prior to action by the CDC.
