Consultant Selection Web Page

Last Updated:  November 16, 2009 2:03 PM

About this page:

The Office of Facilities Planning maintains this page to aid consultants in the preparation of proposals on university projects.  From time to time, the university needs architectural and land planning consultants to assist in its capital development program.   By State statute, projects with fees over $50,000 or with total project costs over $500,000 must enter into a Qualifications Based Selection process for selection by the governing board, which for the University of Colorado is the Board of Regents.

Requests for qualifications generally follow the Legislative cycle, with State-funded projects being released in April through June and cash-funded projects released in January through March.  Occasionally, a project eligible for an expedited review under SB92-202 may be released in an off month.

When such a process is instituted, the university will advertise in two places: on the State of Colorado BIDS page and in the Denver Daily Journal.  We will post any additional information, including information packets, questions, or links to background information through this page.

Projects valued at less than $500,000 or with fees under $50,000 are selected through the State of Colorado Standing Order Consultant process. Contact the State Buildings office to get information about becoming qualified.

Pending projects and their potential release dates:

CU-Boulder has submitted several State funded projects for FY 10-11; however, due to the economic recession, none of these projects are expected to be funded this year.  Requests for cash funded projects may happen at anytime.  At this time, it is anticipated that the Kittredge Commons renovation will be posted in March 2010.  Other ARRA grant funding may be posted in the spring once the outcome of grant proposals are known.  Please view this site for more information after the first of the year.

Information on the status of  all projects from conception to construction can be found in the Quarterly Report of Planning Projects.
