The program plan is currently circulating to review committees that will make recommendations regarding the project to the Chancellor and Board of Regents. This version of the plan is available here, however changes may be forthcoming, depending on the comments received securing approvals.

Information about the Project
Visit the Campus Master Plan to see information on campus growth and how the project is integrated into the overall plan. This project is an addition to the existing LSTR Center located in the CU Research Park on the East Campus. The building is located along the south edge of the park and is the square building located back from Colorado Avenue.

Firms interested in being the prime consultant for this project should familiarize themselves with the State of Colorado contract for Architects and Engineers (CMGC process). The contract can be viewed at the State Buildings web site, or by clicking on the link below. The agreement should be considered a DRAFT and some modifications to meet university requirements (e.g. condition precedent clause) will be included.

Architects for this project are expected to work with a Construction Manager/General Contractor in order to expedite delivery of the project. The CMGC contract is the also the State format and can be viewed at the link below. Like the A/E agreement, it should be considered a draft.

The Short List
The firms selected to be interviewed on Monday, September 26, 2005 are:

  • Davis Partnership Architects
  • Design Concepts Community & Landscape Architects
  • MB Consulting Inc.
  • Donald H. Godi & Associates

The Recommendation
The Architectural Selection Committee is charged with creating a ranked list of the top three candidates for this project. At the conclusion of interviews, a ranked order recommendation was created. The Selection Committee's recommendation in order is:

          1.   Davis Partnership
          2.   Donald H. Godi & Associates
          3.   Design Concepts Community & Landscape Architects

The Selection Committee's recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Regents for approval at their November 3, 2005, meeting. Upon approval, a contract will be negotiated with the first most qualified firm. If negotiations are not successful, the university will enter into negotiations with second most qualified firm and so on until a reasonable fee can be negotiated.
