Historic Resources Advisory Committee The Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) was created by and reports to the Boulder Campus Planning Commission. Its mission is to preserve and enhance the historic character and integrity of the Norlin Quadrangle Historic District, and to provide advice and assistance to the Boulder Campus Planning Commission (BCPC) and others in the University community in matters relating to historic preservation. Click here for an outline of the HRAC's accomplishments and contributions to the campus.
The HRAC coordinated the development of the Micro-Master Plan for the Norlin Quadrangle area. Members include the Campus Architect, the Director of the CU Heritage Center, and the Director of the Physical Plant. Other members represent the BCPC membership, the Colorado Historical Society, the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the CU Alumni Association, and the Boulder Heritage Roundtable. Student participation is encouraged. Click here for a list of the members. Minutes of the HRAC are shared with the BCPC, and oral reports are presented to the BCPC from time to time. Members of the BCPC may request items to be put on the agenda of the next HRAC meeting, and the HRAC may recommend that items be forwarded to the BCPC for review. The HRAC meets on the last Thursday of odd-numbered months at the CU Heritage Center. All meetings are open to interested persons in the campus and city communities.
